Rivets
A rivet is a headed pin or bolt of metal used for uniting two or more pieces of material by passing the shank through a hole in each piece and then reshaping the plain end to make a second head. While the second head is created the materials are united or tightened. Rivets have varied sizes, lengths, shapes and can be hardened for specific tensile strengths. Rivets can be manufactured from plastic, nylon, steel or other composite materials. Rivets are usually matched with the parent material types and any other specific application specifications.
